I'm not sure I can take the mental strain here ;) I'd just about resigned myself to not racing this year but based on your last post there is still a chance I'll get an invite! The only downside is that a late invite's going to feel a bit like being picked last for football; we'll take Jackson but only if we get a 2 goal start :)

Still no matter how fraught it gets it will still be easier than doing the race, my worst bit mentally has to be at the bottom of Pen-y-ghent; the temptation to just head straight on down the road...... If it wasn't for the helpers and marshals expecting you to head up the hill I'd be off to the pub at Helwith Bridge!

There are still plenty of riders who have been accepted but have not confirmed their entry and paid. They have until Friday July 29th. All these riders have been emailed and we can not understand why they have not completed their entry. If it turns out that they have been away on holiday we will be able to re-send the invitations if they let us know of their circumstances.

Hi John
Sadly It is the curse of online entrys in popular events It happens in fell races too,
As it takes little effort to enter online (unlike in past years early to the post box in your jammys) you get folk putting the name down as they fancy the idea at the time
If they where passionate they would have been waiting for that email and eager to press the enter key!

E-mail Dalesman

john it seems that some of the emails are being directed to users spam/junk mail boxes, and so people are not getting ther acceptance e mails, happened to a friend of mine, and only by chance he looked in his junk mails and there it was.
Could be you have a problem with this method ???? cheers barry

Personally I found the online entry easy (especially as I was lucky enough to be selected) however, could I suggest that the first week of school holiday may not be the best time to sent out the invitation emails. I was really lucky to check my emails whilst away and was able to respond but could easily have missed it. I know many people have smart phones these days but many more do not. Just a thought.
