I want to thank all the marshals, helpers, mountain rescue, my family and my assistant organisers Keith and Martin for making such a memorable day with the worst conditions since 1981 when it was even colder. There has now been 4 really bad days: 1963,1978, 1981 and 2012; in 1981 the stop time at Horton was brought forward to prevent slower riders suffering from the cold. Thank you YCCA for the board of photos and the book of thanks from lots of riders. I am determined that the race will go on with a new organisation, I will still be there to help and advise.
