Shipping Bike Box to Settle?

Hello, I will be visiting UK for the first time and need to figure out the logistics of traveling with my cx bike from Heathrow airport. I will be traveling by train to Settle. If I were in Japan, I would ship my bike box since the price is relatively affordable (~3500 yen) and the airport-to-door delivery time is within a day or two. I wonder if shipping would be a convenient and reliable method to transport my big bike box from Heathrow to Settle. I'm open for any suggestions and would appreciate if you can share your in-the-know expertise of traveling with a cx bike in UK. Thanks in advance. Michiko
