Cyclocross as it was meant to be cross country with a bike .
In this world of health and safety they wouldn't let you run a race like that anymore
any ways posh lads with1- 3 grand bikes wont want to throw them across a river

Absolutely brilliant! There ought to be a place both for this type of race and the modern type of course.

And if anyone says "health and safety wouldn't allow it" - how come Audax events that require riders to do 400K, 600k or even 1400k, with all the risk of cycling through the night and sleep deprivation are allowed? Can't - within reason - we be allowed to make our own decisions?
