Orange survival blanket

3 Peaks virgin has a query.

Does the survival blanket have to be orange? have a foil type blanket.

Is this suitable and acceptable? Dont want to leave it to the last minute to get one if I have too.

The rules are very explicit on this:

When signing on at Race Control, competitors must produce a whistle
and an orange polythene survival bag (78 x 36") as recommended by the
British Mountaineering Council, which must be carried at all times during
the race. A change of cycle will not be accepted as an excuse for not
having a survival bag. Competitors are advised to strap the survival bag
firmly under their saddles. During the race and at the finish, spot checks
will be made and any competitor without a whistle and survival bag will
be disqualified. (Survival bags can be purchased at sports outfitters and
the Pen-y-Ghent cafe, Horton-in-Ribblesdale).

Don't worry... They are very inexpensive and can be purchased from any outdoor / caving / hiking shop in the Settle and Ingleton area when you get to there... (provided you arrive before Sunday morning of course!)
