View from a Marshal

As the person whose task was to make you turn right out of the car park and not clash with the riders still finishing I would just like to say thank you to all the riders and drivers who either signalled their understanding or after a quick explaination turned round and went the other way.

I realise it must have been frustrating to see none race traffic still travelling along the road but we had no way of stopping them, however some did turn round. Having marshalled at the main road junction one year cars leaving the race were a real issue with riders turning right to the finish so your co-operation was really appreciated.

Commiserations to the Volkswagen Van who turned right just as Keith decided that we could let car go both ways as there were only 18 riders still to return.

As Sunday's chief commissaire I heartily endorse the above. Cooperation like this certainly improved rider safety and made the job of the hard working marshals doing a potentially thankless task much easier.

I was marshaling at cold cotes It was a cracking day except the few numptys walking oblivious into the paths of the riders and told them so "numptys"
But was really surprised just how many who where supporting didn't know the rules and where hanging around the gate with wheels & bikes until told !
