When is a cyclocross bike not a cyclocross bike?

Is using slick (i.e. not just well worn) tyres for the road sections within the rules? Is it within the spirit?

Thought all that using the wrong kit was stopped years ago? It`s not in the spirit to use road tyres although some use as you say the most worn out cross tyres they can find for the road bits

Extract from Rule 13:
"A cyclo-cross bike is a road bike with cyclo-cross tubulars/tyres and low gears."

So not within the rules. Simples!

In that case it`s disqualification then.The same as using flats that were to wide or those odd very wide drops .There are no excuses for not knowing the rules
